Ride #2 /
Sunday, April 29th 2007
Here are the photos from 29 April '07 ride
to Davis Junction.
Yesterdays ride is
"in the books" and
here is a re-cap.
Meeting at
McDonald's were:
Rocky Dobek.....racking
up more riding miles
with the club than
Chris. Dennis
Wegner, Rick
Morales, Rich Remnes,
John Tolomeo, Joe
McGuire, Art
Steinmeier and
friend Bonnie, Lenny
Rutka, Quan Ngugent
and wife
Carla.....and friend
Masoud, Herbert
Betancourt and wife
Lissett, John
Andrews and friend
Barbara, Joe
Celovsky...The Road
Captain
We set off at 0905
hrs. hit the Toll
Road North and
sailed easily to our
1st. break at the
Belvedere Oasis.
There we were met by
my favorite "WingMan"
Joe Giammona. A
short break and then
another 30 minute
ride AND ONE
WRONG TURN later
we were at our
destination. A wood
carvers home near
Davis Junction. You
have to see it to
believe it. Life
size statues of
Eagles, Bears, other
assorted animals,
and the story of
Christ with over 100
life sized carved
figures. Though I'm
not religious, I was
impressed.
After spending about
45 minutes there we
left to ride back
roads to Dekalb. En
route guest Masouds'
bike broke down and,
after 40 minutes of
wrench turning, a
tow truck summoned.
Joe McGuire stayed
behind with Masoud
while the rest of us
traveled on to
Dekalb. After the
tow truck hauled the
bike & rider away
Joe met up with us
at the restaurant in
DeKalb.
Joe, that
was a "stand-up"
thing you did for a
stranger.

Ride #1 /
Sunday, April 22nd 2007
Well, the 1st. official BKILXI ride is history. The
Sunday, Apr.22nd. ride took us out to Carrs' in
Mazon. Making the ride were: Dennis Wegner, John Andrews, Jerry
Bodzioch, Mike Fratto, Rick Morales, Rocky Dobek, and Joe, the Road Captain.
Several new roads were ridden, just to keep the ride fresh and interesting.
Great timing got us out to Carrs', and our food served, just before the
crowd started to arrive.
The ride lasted 2:45 hr. out, 1 hr. for lunch, and 2
hrs. back, getting us home around 1500 hrs. with a total distance of 160
miles ridden
